AUDIO:

Huseyin Avni Mutlu, governor of Diyarbakir Region, AK Parti. Spoke mostly about the Kurds … historical perspective, etc. Asserted over and over that there was no Kurdish Problem or if there is, it’s being worked out through economic development and expansion of Kurdish rights while improving their ability to integrate.

AUDIO:

Osman Baydemir, Mayor of Diyarbakir and member of the mainly Kurdish party, Democratic Society Party (DTP). His interview is very compelling. He discusses the fact that there are significant problems for Kurdish people in the region. However, he emphasizes that the PKK’s efforts are not approved by the DTP because of the violence. The PKK and the DTP suggest competing and contradictory solutions to the issues.
